Why Vascular and Interventional Radiology?

With its minimally invasive approach, vascular and interventional radiology (VIR) minimizes patient risk and speeds up recovery. Because many conditions that usually would require surgery are debilitating enough on their own, it makes sense to choose safe and proven alternatives for patient comfort and peace of mind.

VIR is a medical specialty that uses X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI technologies to safely guide catheters and other medical devices to the problem areas in the body. Almost every bodily section can be accessed this way: from organs deep inside the abdomen, leg vessels, or the most minor joints. VIR is at the forefront of medicine as a preferable alternative to open surgery and also reduces costs by eliminating the need for overnight hospital stays or prolonged recovery.

Conditions We Diagnose and Treat

As a medical specialty, VIR began only as an alternative to surgery for conditions affecting blood vessels. These days, we now use the same approach to treat many health problems throughout the entire body.

Our team members at the Vascular & Interventional Partners are experienced and trained in treating conditions of the veins and arteries, benign and malignant tumors, fractures, inflammatory diseases, and more. By working closely with other medical experts, we can create a treatment program that boosts patient outcomes no matter how severe or benign a condition is. VIR techniques can assist even in cases where immediate treatment is necessary for patient survival.
